Noise is an online youth arts organisation, promoting young artists and makers (under 25) on a global scale. Based in Australia, Noise invites makers, designers, writers, film makers etc from all over the world to submit work to be published on their site. Successfully published works then have a chance of winning various competitions running throughout the year such as 'Vote for Art' a monthly prize of $1000AUD for a work that has accumulated the most votes within the month. There is also the annual SOYA (spirit of youth) awards. Sponsored by qantas, winners receive $5000AUD and $5000 AUD worth of flights to anywhere in the world. So, if you're under 25, take a look at NOISE and submit your works. Published works are viewed by hundreds and thousands of people, the exposure itself is invaluable.

Youth@craft·design is for young and emerging craftspeople, students, professional makers, and designers to interact with some of Australia's most successful emerging craft·design practitioners. Join the youth@craft·design bloggers and learn how they made a successful transition into the commercial world.

Extremely White

Extremely White is a simple exhibition. Good design with a premise: to be white.
Organized by Otro Diseño, the exhibition brought together designers from all over the world to show the Dutch audience a collection that interprets, in the most diverse white objects, the material qualities of textiles, ceramics, porcelain, acrylic, paper, glass and sugar.
These objects have a deep personal relationship with the author and are also able to create strong links with their user. The designers and companies had the courage to produce and the ability to make their ideas into a beautiful, meaningful and successful product.
Extremely White was presented within the frame of Inside Design Amsterdam 2006 in the impressive 17th century building of Taot N Thea, in Amsterdam. The public could see and buy all the products on display.
A selection of the products is available at Otro Diseño's shop and gallery at Molsteeg 9, Amsterdam.

hello and welcome to 'colour between the lines ', a blog that investigates relevant websites, information, blogs, articles, etc for makers starting out in their fields. i will endeavor to bring you current information to do with grants, competitions, exhibitions both local, national and international. i am based in melbourne, so a lot of the information will be relevant to melbournian makers, however, i will try to expand and generate interest and hopefully collaboration on a greater scale. please feel free to send me any information that would be relevant to this blog or if you have anything you'd like to share about your work, exhibition, achievement, please drop me a line and i'll be sure to include you.
